If you want to work with your images but maybe not pay the price of say a Lightroom or Aperture application, or for some reason you don’t like iPhoto then I really recommend you check out Photon. The interface is wonderful and the workflow very simple. Priced at $49 it’s a lot cheaper than the mega image management and editing applications.

I saw this program the other day on macrumors and downloaded it. I tried it on my MBP and liked it. When I went to the website to pay for it in order to use all the features, imagine my surprise that I can’t buy it because the developer will not allow IE to view the site ‘Because this is a mac only program you understand why only safari and firefox are used.’

Well sorry for you buster, the only computers I can get on the internet with here in Iraq are WINDOWS ONLY! So while I’m deployed to Iraq protecting your rights to refusing support to IE, you will never get a dime from me. Your loss buddy.

  1. I hate it when sites refuse browser support, certainly if you are a company selling a product it does not reflect well to refuse people who want to give you money.

And thanks for serving, stay safe!

    Hi guys,

I’m the developer of Photon. Thanks to Peter for the quick link to my app. I really appreciate it!

To the first commenter – I’m really sorry that you weren’t able to view the site. Being a one-man software shop, I have to really pick what I spend my time on carefully. I just didn’t see much benefit to spending time making the site look good in IE, and instead focused on getting features and bug fixes in the software. The site’s due for an overhaul, so I will definitely re-evaluate getting it functional in IE.

Also, you have my sincere gratitude for choosing to serve. I can’t imagine what it’s really like to be there, but I have had friends who’ve been deployed, and I’ve heard some rough stories. Thanks for the comments, and stay safe.

  2. Thanks for the update Mike. I am sure the browser support will be appreciated by many. And keep up the good work on the application I hear lots of people talking about it.

If you have any problems with browser support feel free to drop me a message and maybe I can provide an answer or suggestions for you.

    Peter.
