Rain came to North Texas again this morning, and I got real lucky with this shot…just wish it was sharp!

Now that is cool! Great catch Pete.

  1. This is wonderful! Congrats!

  2. Nice timing 🙂

Here’s a sharpening trick I learned a while back which unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to use much of.

Duplicate the layer. Run a High Pass filter on the duplicate. Move the High Pass range somewhere around 10 and hit okay. Select the Hard Light adjustment for that layer and play with opacity until you get the look you like.

See how that works for you.

  3. Thanks everyone!

I was amazed to see it on the LCD, hand held in very bad light…my reward for the day I think 🙂

Thanks for the sharpening trick Rob, I did not know that one and will be giving it a go later today.

  4. Good stuff, looks like fun! We are getting absolutely hammered by a spring storm right now, perhaps if I have another beer I can get fired up to go get some images of a very wet outside. 😉

  5. Don’t know anything about sharpening, but with regard to the photo, one word comes to mind – outstanding!
